When clients in University Park reached out to decorate the space of their new covered porch addition that was about to be built, we seized the moment with a design that incorporates places for relaxation, dining, and games. New furniture, fabrics, lighting, bespoke flooring, custom fireplace, and a game table have transformed the way they entertain and extended the use of their home. All the furnishings were selected and/or custom designed by Melissa Gerstle.

Enhancements include:

• A sectional facing the new custom fireplace provides seating for movies and games. The area also includes a coffee table and swivel chairs.

• Outdoor dining area features a new table and chairs.

• A custom-built curved banquette with fluted carpentry details has a custom cushion and pillows. A bistro table nestles into the curve with swivel chairs. Above a pendant light is custom-colored to coordinate with the design.

• An outdoor foosball table provides hours of fun.

• The limestone floor is custom cut into triangles of beige and gray for a subtle geometric pattern on the ground plane.

• A custom ventless fireplace features tile by Ann Sacks with a marble mantel.

• New French doors create a seamless transition between indoors and outdoors.
