A modern house serves as a haven for the homeowner, supporting his active outdoor lifestyle. A pool, spa, and lush landscape shields the property from view. The Cedar Elm trees, added in the front yard, including the driveway, establish a sense of privacy while creating a woodland preserve. The four flat-roofed volumes include welcoming front and rear outdoor spaces designed for entertaining. Floating stairs and custom corten planters with hidden recessed lighting details were designed with precise attention to detail.

Intimate landscaped side gardens also provide privacy. The pool was designed to be in dialogue with the home, and sits on a concrete terrace, scored in a custom pattern of varying sizes of horizontal ribbons that align perfectly with the pool’s geometry. The pool design features a specialty edge that is reminiscent of a negative edge but provides a place to sit without getting wet.
The vibrant blue mosaic tile complements the hardscape areas and the linear approach to the architecture. Plant material includes a woodland backdrop that blends into the natural landscape surrounding the site.
